AMN develops its standardization activities through the Mercosur Sectorial Committees (CSM), which represent the society industrial segments and have the purpose to establish the standardization sectorial programs and to lead the process of development and harmonization of standards.

The creation of the Mercosur Sectorial Committees depends on the request by the interested sectors through the National Standardization Bodies (NSB) of each one of the member countries, and such requests need to be approved by the remainder members.

AMN is responsible for the creation of the Mercosur Sectorial Committees as well as their reintegration, their suspension and even their dissolution when they do not fulfil their objectives.
The Mercosur Sectorial Committees may be subdivided, in turn, into Mercosur Sectorial Subcommittees (SCM). We present the current existing CSM:
